Paul Hegarty suspended by Livingston FC

LIVINGSTON Football Club will be managed by David Hay for the final two games of the 2008/09 season, after the club suspended manager Paul Hegarty with immediate effect this evening.

Hay will assume control of the first team squad from Wednesday. His position as interim manager of the club will then be reviewed by the board during the summer, with a view to a possible permanent appointment.

Hay was in charge of the Livingston team which lifted the CIS Cup in 2004. He also had a spell as co-manager with Jim Leishman, as the club won promotion to the Scottish Premier League in 2001, finishing third in their first season in the top flight and qualifying for the UEFA Cup.

Further information on tonight's news will follow in due course.
