Why not register for our new ‘Football Fans in Training’ initiative to kick start the new you?!

Our FFIT programme (The Football Fans in Training) project is a unique collaboration between academics, the Scottish Professional Football League Trust and Scotland's top football clubs, which has already attracted more than 2000 men to make significant changes to their risk of ill health by losing weight, becoming more active and eating a healthier diet.

The FFIT programme has been developed to include the latest scientific approaches to weight loss, physical activity and diet. Our programme is slightly unique as we will be working in collaboration with NHS Lothian which opens up the course to a larger age group. The programme will be delivered by the Foundations community coaches at Livingston FC's Energy Assets Arena.

The FFIT programme has been fully evaluated in a major research project, which has been led by the University of Glasgow.

The main aims of the programme are:

  • Increase knowledge of diet & nutrition
  • Improve lifestyle choices
  • Increase physical activity amongst participants
  • Reduce weight and waist measurements
  • Increase engagement in other physical activity

The course runs for 12 weeks, excluding the initial registration week, and through our partnership with The SPFL Trust and NHS Lothian it is completely free!
