Livingston have signed former Atalanta midfielder Nejc Praprotnik on a short-term deal.
John McGlynn handed the Slovenian a contract until January to give him a chance to assess the player.
Praprotnik is yet to feature in a Livingston match but was on the bench in their 2-1 win over Dundee a fortnight ago and has played in reserve matches.
And McGlynn is watching the 20-year-old’s progress.
He said: “He came here on trial and his CV is impressive.
“He hadn’t trained with a club for a few months prior to coming here.
“The only way we could get a look at him was to sign him, as the rules have you tied up in knots when you are trying to get a player from abroad.
“You need to sign them to get them in reserve and first team games. You have to give them a contract.
“We have put him on a short-term contract until January, to have a look at him over an extended period.
“He is tall, strong, two-footed, and more of a defensive midfield player.”
