A depleted Under 19 side had to settle for one point rather than three last night after Partick Thistle scored a late penalty kick to secure a 2-2 draw on the Fieldturf.
Thistle took the lead in controversial circumstances with a retaken free-kick after referee Ralph Gordon adjudged our wall to have encroached when the kick was originally taken.
Missing key players Andy Murphy, Dean Cummings, Ross Docherty and others, we made a slow start to the game but quickly got back on terms with Michael Travis sweeping the ball into the top corner for our equaliser.
We went ahead before half time with Andy Russell notching his 22nd goal of the season from the penalty spot.
The second half was played at breakneck pace and with no quarter given by either side. We had the better of the chances but couldn't find a decisive third goal.
Reduced to ten men late on in the first half, Thistle battled away and were rewarded for their hard work with a late penalty after Coll Donaldson was adjudged to have fouled in the penalty area. Donaldson was red-carded, and despite a valient effort by keeper Mark Hurst, he was unable to prevent Thistle from taking a share of the points.
Livingston: Hurst, Naples, Co MacDonald (S Murphy), Aitken, Travis, Donaldson, O'Rourke, Beaumont (Scott), A Russell, Easton, Galloway.
