Under 19s safely through in Youth Cup

Our Under 19 team are safely through to the fourth round of this season's SFA Youth Cup after netting five against Peterhead at Albyn Park this afternoon.

They had to come from behind to secure a home tie with Airdrie United however, after a slow start to the game saw Peterhead take a twelfth minute lead.

Watched on by several members of the first team squad, Brian Welsh's boys got themselves back into the game and two minutes after Dylan Easton hit the bar, Andy Russell produced a low angled shot to equalise on 28 minutes.

Liam Gray put us ahead six minutes later with a fantastic strike from distance which gave the Blue Toon goalkeeper no chance.

Gray was denied a second goal just before half time when his curling shot came back off the post with the Peterhead keeper beaten, but got it within two minutes of the restart.

He completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute before sub Frazer Galloway added the fifth goal five minutes later to complete what was a comfortable win in the end.

Livingston: Murphy, Naples, Co MacDonald, Aitken, Donaldson, Docherty, Beaumont (Downie), Brady (Scott), A Russell (Galloway), Easton, L Gray

* In today's other competitive youth action, the Under 17s beat Elgin City 3-1 on the Fieldturf to stay top of the SFL Under 17 Youth Division.
