Under 19s good start continues

Our Under 19 side's excellent start to the season continued with a comfortable 5-0 win over Stirling Albion on Sunday afternoon.

Albion were one of only two sides to defeat our youngsters in the league last season, but there was no slip-up at Forthbank Stadium this time round.

Ross Docherty got the opening goal in a first half which was otherwise notable for a series of missed chances.  However, Brian Welsh's side were more clinical after the break.

On fire striker Andy Russell followed up his hat-trick against Dundee with the second goal, before Docherty got his second of the day and Dean Cumming notched the fourth.  Michael Scott capped a good win with the fifth goal before the end.

Tuesday night saw a mainly young side travel to Dundee for a useful run-out against local Junior outfit Dundee Violet, which yielded a hard fought 3-2 victory.

The young Lions will hope to keep their unbeaten start to the season going this Sunday when they face Airdrie United in a 5pm kick off on the Fieldturf.
