Under 19s run up a record

Livingston's table topping Under 19 team ran up a brand new club record yesterday when they scored FOURTEEN without reply against Ayr United.

The young Lions are vying for a third successive SFL championship and they showed their strength with a relentless show of scoring prowess against their visitors on the Almondvale Fieldturf.

They led 6-0 at half time, adding eight more after the break to become the first side in the history of Ferranti Thistle, Meadowbank Thistle or Livingston to score fourteen goals in a competitive game.

On the mark were Chris Malone (4), Dean Cummings (4), Kyle Jacobs (3), Marc McNulty (2) and Andy Russell.

"The players showed their great enthuasism and work ethic right to the end which was very pleasing," said coach Brian Welsh.

Next up for the 19s is a Youth Cup quarter final clash with Hibernian at their Training Centre base in East Lothian this Sunday. Kick off is at 1pm.
