The Livi for Life Supporters Trust has today appealed to all Livingston supporters to help them raise much needed money for their club's youth development work by giving £1 at this Saturday's home match against Raith Rovers.
The Trust's 'A Quid for the Kids' fundraiser is now in it's third year, with well over £1000 raised in two previous events and they hope to raise even more with the 2013 event on Saturday, May 4.
The concept remains as simple as it has been in the past; the Trust is asking all Livingston supporters to drop just ONE POUND into special collection buckets, which will be carried by volunteer supporters at the match.
As before, all proceeds will be used to purchase kit and equipment for Livingston's youth teams as part of the Trust's ongoing investment in the club.
“Livingston have always worked hard at youth development, but in these difficult times for Scottish football, bringing through your own players has taken on even more importance,” said David Stoker, the Trust's representative on the Livingston FC board of directors.
“By holding our 'Quid for the Kids' event for a third year, we hope to contribute to the considerable running costs that club incur in this area.
“Our club has a fantastic record for developing players, with the likes of Stefan Scougall and Coll Donaldson the latest in a long line of talented players to come through at Livingston.
“It's vital that this conveyor belt keeps running and supporters can help by dropping a quid, or more, into one of our special collection buckets on Saturday.”
