Keags out for the season

Livingston were dealt a blow this afternoon with news that midfield maestro Keaghan Jacobs is out for the season with a serious knee injury.

Keags was injured in training and attended hospital in Bradford today for what was supposed to be a straightforward operation. However a pre-op scan revealed the damage was worse than feared, and his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) has been torn.

As was the case with defender Jason Talbot, Keaghan’s recovery period is estimated at 9-12 months, thus ruling him out for the rest of the season.

A disappointed Chief Executive Ged Nixon shared the supporters’ sentiments on hearing the news.

“Keags has been superb all season, so this is a real blow to the squad.  It’s certainly not the start to the year we were looking for.

“Naturally we wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the field once his knee has fully mended.”
