Livingston FC and the Livi For Life Supporters Trust are delighted to announce that David Stoker has been elected as the first ever Trust representative to the club's board of directors.

David polled a majority of the votes cast in yesterday's election to pip Trust board colleague David Wilson for the newly created post, which has a two-year term.

Attendees at last night's very successful Burns Night at Almondvale were first to hear the news when chief executive Ged Nixon announced the result.

A supporter of Meadowbank Thistle and Livingston for more than twenty years, David (32) is already well known at Almondvale having been the editor of the club's matchday magazine, Roar, since 2002.

He said: "It's a huge honour for me to be given the opportunity to join the board as the Trust's first ever representative, and I am looking forward greatly to the challenges it will bring.

"Livi for Life has played an important role in assisting the club to get back on its feet after everything that happened last season, and by honouring their promise to include a Trust representative on the board, the club has strengthened the bond between the two significantly.

"Not only is this a very proud moment for me personally, but it's a landmark for Livi for Life, Livingston FC and all Livingston supporters."

Ged Nixon added: "During our initial conversations as a board we decided that it was of paramount importance that bridges be built with our supporters through the Trust and we see the appointment of a director from the body of the Trust as a great way of doing that.

"As a club we have a number of mountains to climb and I am looking forward to David adding a new dimension to the board over the next two years.

"We were fortunate that there were two excellent candidates up for election, and I would like to pay tribute to David Wilson, who narrowly lost out in the vote.

"Although he won't be joining the board at this stage, he fought a good campaign and his hard work and dedication to the Trust and its ongoing work with the club will be invaluable going forward."
