ST JOHNSTONE Football Club have confirmed to us this morning that the pitch heating system at McDiarmid Park is in operation, meaning Saturday's match in the Irn-Bru First Division should go ahead.
There has been snowfall in Perth over the past few days, but with no snow forecast for Friday and only sleet showers predicted for Saturday, Livingston look likely to make their second visit of the season and will be looking to record their first league win over the Saints since March 2007.
Graham Dorrans scored twice late on to hand Livi a 2-1 win over St Johnstone at McDiarmid that day, but Saturday's hosts have since notched up six straight league wins against the Lions.
Derek McInnes' side have defeated Livingston in both league fixtures this season, defeating a new look Livi side 2-0 on the opening day of the season, before leaving Almondvale Stadium with a 1-0 victory in October 2008.
Livingston have won against them this season though, with Jean Jose Cuenca's extra time goal enough for a 2-1 win in the Co-operative Insurance Cup back in August 2008.
A pitch inspection at McDiarmid Park isn't currently scheduled, but keep checking back as the big match approaches for any change in the situation.
